Biggleswade Academy and Biggleswade Academy Pre School
Biggleswade Academy is an age 2-13 'through school set across 24 acres of grounds, providing high quality education and care for the children and young people of Biggleswade.
The Academy has an excellent reputation for using innovation to achieve high standards, ensuring tried and tested best practice is entwined with new approaches to ensure all children receive a genuinely inspirational education.
By using great learning programmes, like Forest Schools and the International Primary Curriculum, and combining them with self-developed projects, like the offer of a range of Options in years 7&8, or the 1-1 tablet computing programme for years 5-8, innovation to develop personalisation is a key factor of the Academy's curriculum.
In total, Biggleswade Academy provides statutory mainstream education for over 800 pupils as well as giving approximately 370 session places at the Academy pre-school.
Additionally, Biggleswade Academy prides itself on its inclusive philosophy and how it puts that into practice; within Biggleswade Academy there is an 8 place provision for pupils with severe Autistic needs; the Academy also hosts a supportive learning provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, in partnership with the Area Special School, 'Ivel Valley', both of which demonstrate this philosophy in action.
Biggleswade is a town that is growing rapidly and as it grows, the demand for places and additional care at the Academy is growing with it.
A further partnership arrangement with 'Multi-Active' also recognises the difficulties faced by parents in finding high quality child care arrangements that complement high quality school provision and support home school life. This partnership therefore offers high quality care and additional activities from 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for 51 weeks of the year.
